Our History:

Originating in Tallahassee, Florida in 1974 Phidippides started as an all encompassing sporting goods store. Although there was a focus on running there were not too many core running shoes in the market. As demand grew so did Phidippides, and in 1975 Phidippides was moved to Atlanta where it has remained since.

Being one of the first specialty running stores in the world, Phidippides has pioneered many techniques that are still used today. The foot evaluation process is as simple as it always has been, without unnecessary gadgetry, but is as precise, if not more then other methods, with a personal touch.

The Owner:

Phidippides has been serving the Atlanta running community since 1975. Olympian Jeff Galloway started Phidippides in order to combine state-of-the-art product with expert guidance in the selection of running shoes, apparel, and accessories for all runners and walkers.

The Staff:

The staff at Phidippides is dedicated to providing a high level of expertise to customers in a friendly and professional manner. The staff works on the same consistent basis whether you’re a competitive runner, fun-runner, or someone looking for a good pair of walking shoes.

All our staff members are runners — of varying backgrounds and abilities — so they can easily relate to your questions and concerns. Each member of the staff is trained in-house by a twenty year veteran of the store, who also serves as a consultant for many of the top shoe companies.

The Evaluation Process:

Our staff will evaluate you running or walking to establish your foot function — this is unique from foot shape, which is a seperate variable in the equation. Once the foot function is determined, the evaluation process continues by comparing fit and comfort of those shoes appropriate to your mechanics.Because this process is so individualized, we continue in this age of electronic commerce to sell only through our retail stores.

Our Return Policy:

• Non-defective items may be returned if they are in original condition and have a sales receipt
• Shoes and electronics must be in the box they were purchased in, apparel must have product tags.
• Defective items will be evaluated on an individual basis.
• Defective electronics have a 90 day return limit. Customers will be responsible for contacting the company directly beyond 90 days.
• We reserve the right to give partial refunds based on the condition and wear of the returned item.
• Please allow two weeks for refunding of check payments.
