Way to go everyone that completed 13.1 or 26.2 miles this weekend! We also want to send a huge thank you to all the volunteers that helped out with the race.
Thanks also go out to everyone that came out and cheered at the New Balance cheer tent on Sunday. We had a great time seeing everyone and cheering you on to the finish.
Remember if you bring in your ING number you will receive 10% off your entire purchase (off all non sale items). Also if you wore a Phidippides shirt during the race and bring in a photo you will receive 20% off!
Congratulations once again, and if ING took the last miles off your current shoes, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Not running the race this weekend but want to have an inspiring experience anyway? Come join us! We’ll bring the refreshments and noise makers, you bring your spirit and energy, and together we will cheer on 15,000 runners, walkers and rollers!
Our location is great–about ½ mile from the finish line, where we can help give everyone a little extra boost to keep them rolling! Plus, it’s easily accessible from 75/85, so you won’t have to worry about interfering with the course. (Directions below.)
Look for our big red NB tent at 431 Marietta St. in the parking lot of Phase One Designs—one block west of the Georgia Aquarium.
The race starts at 7 am and we’ll see wheelers as early as 7:45! The lead half marathoners will blow by us just after 8 am, and then…EVERYONE ELSE! We’ll certainly be kept busy cheering!! So come when you can and stay as long as you’d like!
One event you won’t want to miss is the ING Run For Something Better. A childrens run that starts at 10 am and follows the last 1.1 miles of the course, passing our cheer tent on the way!
DIRECTIONS: From north, south and west of the city we recommend coming 75/85 due to the road closures. From the east take Ponce de Leon.
FROM 75/85 SOUTH—EXIT 249C World Congress Center/Williams St./GA Aquarium. Merge onto Williams Street.
TURN RIGHT onto Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. Cross over Luckie St. (the GA Aquarium will be on your left) bear right when street forks. This road dead ends into Marietta St. You can park on this road or in the parking lot to your right.
FROM 75/85 NORTH—EXIT 249B Pine St. Follow exit up to Peachtree St. Take a RIGHT onto Peachtree St. Follow up to Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd/Ralph McGill Blvd. Take a RIGHT onto Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. Follow this about ¾ mile. You will pass the GA Aquarium on your left and cross over Luckie. Once you cross Luckie, bear right. This road dead ends into Marietta St. You can park on this road or in the parking lot to your right.
FROM DECATUR, THE HIGHLANDS, EMORY—Many streets are closed around you all, so it looks like Ponce will be the best bet. Take Ponce WEST until it dead ends into Peachtree St. Turn LEFT onto Peachtree.

Many people like running because all it really requires is one’s body. For those of us non-nudists, it also requires clothes and shoes, but that’s a minimal amount of gear compared to any other sport. Trail running requires one additional item, that is, trails on which to run. People run on trails for a variety of reasons—scenery, nature, shade, softer surfaces, more challenging terrain. In order to maximize their enjoyment, most trail runners also invest in a few other items that allow them to safely remain on the trails for as long as they wish.
Shoes: The way you would go about choosing a trail shoe is a bit different from the typical Phidippides fit process. With a road shoe, the shoe experts at Phidippides would put you in a shoe that would keep your foot in the neutral position. However, with trail running several additional factors come into play:
